Mixing Report

March 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Byron’s working on “Flower Fingernails” guitar tracks. Sifting through a mess of overdubs, finding the sweet ones. Patiently crafting…
I’m really excited about how the rhythm sec. sounds. “Hands for Cliff” was a pretty heavy-ratty rhythm sound, on purpose, but the drums can be EQed and mixed really clean too. Funky tight. And we have more thudding raw bass than we know what to do with. All of the instruments came out well. The guitars are so damn real! The time and mics were worth it.
Mixing, eating boudin, looking at pictures of birds in a book. cleanbird

Hands for Clifford

Hands for Clifford

Hands for Clifford comes from our November-January recording sessions. It’s the first mix we’ve completed, and thus far is our only instrumental. Click on the song title to download it. Hope you dig it!

Unlikely Mind Melds

Last night’s show at Jolly Inn was a blast…Thanks to Danger Death Ray, Tuck and Roll, and Wah Wah Exit Wound: all a y’all were ace, and rarely does a better bunch of dudes come together for rocking. Wah Wah Exit Wound just completely floored me (and Greg & Byron would probably concur). These cats are My Jam Completely–all of my favorite flavors, executed with considerable aplomb; I’ll be posting some of their music on Minor Seconds soon.

I also took a few pictures, which should make it to our flickr.

It’s the season for an Air War web makeover–I thought I’d try out this new theme, in an effort the make this blog a little easier on the eyes. WordPress doesn’t give you a whole lot of choice in these matters. Nonetheless, alot of good stuff is in the kiln at Camp Crawfish…

HI. GUESS WHAT? I’M BACK FROM LOUISIANA. AND I HATE AIRPORTS. AND LOWERCASE.

Just in case anyone actually reads this, we’re playing this Ffffffriday at The Jolly Inn with Danger Death Ray, Wah Wah Exit Wound, and Tuck and Roll. My guess is that we’re playing first. The Jolly Inn is next to Ladd’s Addition, right about:

the verdict

As a follow up to my earlier blog, the verdict is in…Portland Custom Works totally fucking rules. They fixed my Orange within 2 weeks, and it sounds great. I’ll be able to use it for the show Monday.

If your shit breaks, bring it there. They can fix any kind of amp, keyboard, pedal, guitar, or bass you’ve got. Really good dudes. They also specialize in making your non-broken stuff sound better. They really get it, brah.
